Online learning policy including child safety

Spanish with Pachi provides safe, professional, and DBS-checked online Spanish lessons including for children and teens. We are committed to ensuring a secure learning environment.

Safeguarding & child protection
  • I hold an enhanced UK DBS (Disclosure and Barring) certificate including a check of the Children’s Barred List and undergo regular safeguarding training. (Proof of certification is available upon request).
  • Lessons are conducted through secure, password-protected platforms only.
  • All communications regarding scheduling, progress, and feedback will be conducted directly with you, the parent/guardian, via my official email or platform. I will never contact your child privately or outside of our scheduled lesson time.
  • I utilize strict Zoom security settings to ensure our virtual classroom remains a private and protected space.

  • Unique Access Links: A unique Zoom link and password are provided for each class. Never share these links publicly or with anyone outside your family.

Online lesson rules
  • Lessons must take place in a quiet, communal space at home (not a bedroom).
  • Students must be dressed appropriately as they would for school.
  • Recording, photographing or screenshotting of lessons by students or families is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
  • A professional and respectful tone must be maintained at all times.
  • Students should be online 3–5 minutes before class starts to troubleshoot any audio/video issues.

  • Camera On: I require students to keep their cameras on during class unless stated

  • Respectful Behaviour: Inappropriate behaviour or language will result in immediate intervention with possible cancellation of the lesson.

  • Students are required to access the lesson on a laptop, desktop, or tablet (smartphones are not recommended due to small screen size) with reliable high-speed internet. Headphones with a built-in microphone are highly recommended to prevent echo and home distractions.

  • Setup a Public Learning Space: Please place your child in a quiet, shared family area (like a living room or kitchen) rather than a private bedroom.

  • Appropriate Environment & Dress: Please ensure your child—and anyone else visible in the background—is appropriately dressed.

  •  For younger children (ages 3–7): Please stay nearby to assist with technical tasks like muting and unmuting.

Parent/guardian responsibilities
  • Ensuring a parent or guardian is present in the home during the lesson.
  • Verifying that the student is logged in and ready five minutes before the start.
  • Supervising the student's internet usage during lesson times.
  • Promptly informing the tutor of any technical issues or absences.
Contact & concerns
  • We encourage open communication regarding any aspect of the student's learning or safety.
  • For any all concerns, please use the 'Contact' page.
  • I am happy to discuss any specific safeguarding needs or questions you may have.
